Calling all foodies, Aspen has added a great new concept restaurant to it’s culinary roster. The venue has been open just over two weeks at the St. Regis. FOOD & WINE’s “Best New Chef” award winners will rotate the menu twice a year and occasionally make appearances. The chefs chosen to create the restaurant’s spring/summer menu, are 2011 winners George Mendes of Aldea in New York, James Lewis of Bettola in Birmingham, Alabama, 2010 winner Alex Seidel of Fruition in Denver and 2008 winner Sue Zemanick of Gautreau’s in New Orleans.
The wine list has been curated by Executive Wine Editor Ray Isle and, Jim Meehan—one of the nation’s top mixologists, has created the cocktail menu.
Sit at the chef’s counter for the full experience. The dishes we had were between fantastic and just OK and the management and staff are still working out some kinks, although that’s to be expected having been open just two weeks.
Featured Best New Chefs are rotated several times a year and an international roster of celebrity chefs will also periodically appear for exclusive live culinary performances. Check the Chef’s Club events for the latest fine-dining experiences.
